OBJECTIVE:
As part of Architectural Design -III, to understand urban context and its implications in design and to create better interactive spaces for public and commercial use, projects have been introduced. Initializing the concept with a deeper understanding about it is certainly vital. Hence an expert lecture was arranged to support students on concept development, context reading and understanding the public spaces through user interaction.

Ar. Saptharshi Kolay, an architect and a product designer, currently Assistant professor at IIT Roorkee, has an immense knowledge base on concept development and contextual reading. He introduced an activity relating to the local context (REVA University Campus) and prepared students to relate and understand the behavioral, visoral and reflective qualities of the design, mental mapping, system image, generic design methodology and task flow in a design project. It was an effective and informative session for 4th Semester students.

Outcome:
Students were able to relate and understand various concepts introduced by the speaker. They participated enthusiastically in group activity and were able to appreciate the essence of the lecture. Student had a strong take away from the lecture, to implement them on their respective design project.

We would like to thank the management and team at REVA University for their support and constant encouragement towards our endeavours.
