Industrial visits help the students to provide an exposure about practical working environment and to gain full awareness about industrial practices. In this concern School of Mechanical Engineering organized a visit for second semester students to ACE DESIGNERS LTD. Foundry Division, Minnapura Village, Thyamagondly Hobli, Nelamangala Taluk, Bengaluru. The 38 students and two faculty members got benefited from this industrial visit.
Ace Designer’s state of the art foundry was established in August 2013 with a vision to produce high quality cost effective castings while ensuring a sustainable environment. In addition to meeting our group’s requirement of top quality casting, we have strategically built additional capacity to offer precision medium to large sized castings to external customers. Plant is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and is largely automated. Distinguishing features of this facility include high volume fast loop molding, pouring and cooling lines supplied by IMF Italy. Large castings can also be produced with floor molding and also included a mechanized core shop and 4 metric ton dual track induction furnace. Ace Foundry has newly installed magma simulation software with which can get the casting first time right.
The highlight of ACE Designers foundry is that foremost importance has been given to ensure safety and sustainability of the environment. Extreme care has been exercised to ensure safety with systems like laser tracking, flame detectors and physical barriers to name a few. Hazardous waste is collected and disposed as per environmental norms. A modern mechanical and thermal reclamation system ensures 95 percent of the sand is reclaimed. The foundry division has been certified with ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001, OSHAS: 18001 system standards.
The Ace Designers Foundry division has quickly grown to become a benchmark in the industry by winning prestigious awards like Jayaswal Neco Quality Awards and Green Foundry Award conferred by the Indian Institute of Foundrymen.
