Open source technologies and their applications

The technical talks from the industry experts benefit our students and in turn prepare them to meet the demands of industry needs. In this regard the School of Computing and Information Technology has scheduled an invited talk from the industry expert for third semester students and also for other students who are interested on 14th August 2019 from 3:00PM to 4:30 PM. The details of technical talk are as mentioned below:

Session on "Open source technologies and their applications”, was delivered by Mr. Abhas Abhinav.

Mr. Abhas Abhinav is the founder of DeepRoot GNU/Linux, an eighteen-year-old Free Software Business that provides support, services and solutions for Free Software deployments. He is also Founder of Mostly Harmless (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Abhas is hacker, entrepreneur specialising in free software and liberated hardware. Mr. Abhas has completed B.E, Computer Science in National Institute of Technology Durgapur. Abhas is a member of the board of directors of the Free Software Foundation, India and has been a participant in the free software community in India for many years. He advises colleges, govt / defence organisations and start-ups on using, building and adopting free software as a “way of life”.

The audiences for this session were the students of Third semester and also the students who are interested in Open Source Technologies.
