OBJECTIVE-The visit to SJBIT, Kengeri,  Bangalore was organized as a part of curriculum for 6th semester students of Architecture which requires students to study different aspects of campus planning on a contoured site.

ABOUT THE CAMPUS PLANNING & ARCHITECTURE

The SJBIT campus has organically grown in the last 25 years. The SJBIT campus was selected as it is located on a contoured site with level differences of almost 5-6m. Even though the land has been flattened at different parts but the inclusion of level differences is clearly visible in the planning. Almost all the buildings are placed at different levels giving a varied look to the campus.

Our students were divided in 10 different groups comprising of 4-5 students/group. The students were asked to draw  sections across the main spine road at different points , and analyze the impact of contours in planning of individual block.
