World Water Day

Smt. Rukmini Shyama Raju Club for Social Service, School of Civil Engineering organized a technical talk session followed by model exhibition for the students of Civil Engineering, REVA University on the occasion of “World water Day” on Friday,22ndMarch, 2019 between 10:00AMto 2:00PM.The students of Civil Engineering were benefited from the technical talk given by Dr.T.V.Ramachandra, Co-Ordinator, Energy & Wetlands Research Group, Centre for Ecological Sciences,IISC, Bangalore.

The day began with an awareness programme conducted by the club members of Smt. Rukmini Shyama Raju Club for Social Service at the main entrance by holding placards related to water slogans to give adequate knowledge about the importance of preserving water and followed by a mime show enacted by the students of 2nd semester (Vowels of Mercy) based on the concept of conservation of water in the practical world.

A formal gathering was addressed by the Chairperson of Smt. Rukmini Shyama Raju Club for Social Service, Dr. Y. Ramalinga Reddy, Director, School of Civil Engineering and the chief guest of the day, Prof. Dr. T. V. Ramachandra, Head, Center for Ecological Sciences, Coordinator, Energy and Wetland Research group, IISC, Bangalore was welcomed and acknowledged. He has vast experience in the field of Energy: Renewable energy, Integrated Energy Planning, Conservation of Terrestrial and Aquatic ecosystems, Biodiversity-Ecology-Hydrology linkages, Ecological modeling, Wetlands, Soil and Water Pollution, Bioremediation, Municipal Solid Waste Management.

After the conclusion of the Technical Talk, model exhibition competition was held in the School of Civil Engineering where budding engineers of the school presented their innovative and technical models related to the conservation of water.
