It gives me great pride and pleasure as I see the youngest member of our family of Schools at REVA growing as the School of Multidisciplinary studies. With the emerging trends in education oscillating between Bioinformatics, Biomedical engineering, Bioengineering and Agriculture engineering; I believe this is the most opportune time for REVA to offer a course like B.Tech. in Bioelectronics Engineering to students. That the students would broaden their horizons in their study as they course through subjects from science and engineering related subjects, itself gives me the conviction that this would be a program for any student to aspire for. I am happy that we have opened new vistas in the career world as these graduates would gradually be absorbed by the industry for Medical Instrumentation, Medical Electronics and other allied careers in Healthcare sector is a new pathway and the dearth of such expertise in the market speaks for itself. Truly an amalgamation between the industry and international faculty and I wish the best for this School!
While at this new School that would give dreams to those who enter the portals of REVA, I would also like to pen a few words on the greatest worry that has been hassling us and the entire world with the pandemic fear forcing us to be mindful of life ahead. Bouncing back to life and learning to live with it will be the safe mode ahead. And as Educators we have a dual responsibility as guardians of the campus and the lives of the 14000 odd students at campus. Now with the Government lifting the lockdown, the onus lies on us to fight the virus and ensure we are all safe apart from building on our immunity. Lifestyle will undergo a big change and at REVA we are prepared for it.
The campus is ready for reception of students and parents…I stress on parents as we have been having a steady trickle of parents this last week who have been coming anxiously and admitting their children into various courses. Life has to go on, for corona will not vanish just like that. Fortunately technology plays an important role in these times and REVA being digital in all aspects, admission will be done online just as we have completed teaching online and are in the midst of assessments online. The campus is geared for all this and right from markings on the entry to the campus where the scanning is a must to the declaration and quarantine process for students residing in campus; we shall comply with it all. The entire campus and all admin blocks are sanitized and fumigated regularly and yes we shall commence the new semester in time and with a hybrid system. Where interface is a must between students and teachers, we shall plan the same once we are in a safe period and upto then the LCS and the online teaching-learning and assignments will go on. Our post lockdown measures as shared with each of you will be the guiding reference through and through. Life will go on and living responsible is the new mantra!
