Afghan Vocational Technical Programme - November, 2019

REVA welcomes the first cohort of Afghan students who will be engaged in UIIC for the Afghan Vocational Technical Programme starting November, 2019. A completely residential programme; the programme has been designed for one year with three trimesters, leading to a global certification by REVA

RWTH Aachen University, Germany has released its new list of Summer Schools for the year 2020. The University is highly acclaimed internationally for its development of innovative answers to the most pressing global challenges. It was placed 19th for Mechanical Engineering in the 2019 QS World University Rankings, making it the best German University in this field.

REVA has been active in sending students to RWTH for the past two years. This year the University has the following programmes in Mechanical Engineering for the upcoming Summer, 2020:

Programme Objective:

All Summer School courses at RWTH are uniquely designed for international students who want to gain insight into one of Germany’s Universities of Excellence.

Options:

School of Mechanical Engineering

4 weeks (June 1 to 26, 2020)

Module 1: Automotive and Mobility Studies

Overview: The programme explores modern automotive technologies and concepts of mobility, including: fundamentals of vehicle physics and driving resistances, alternative concepts for the powertrain of vehicles, energy storage systems in vehicles, and the grid integration of electric vehicles.

3 weeks (June 22 to July 10, 2020)

Module 2: Mechatronic Systems Engineering and Product Innovation

Overview: Students explore fundamental issues in industrial robotics and related mechatronic systems, properties of transmission and information, the relationship between coding and the limits of information, and systematically develop a mechatronic system.

4 weeks (July 6 to 31, 2020)

Module 3: Automation and Simulation

Overview: The programme covers fundamentals used in automation and simulation. In exercises and computer lab classes, students solve real world problems. As a result, methods used in mechanical engineering are tried, tested and acquired.

3 weeks (August 3 to 21, 2020)

Module 4: Production Technology meets Industry 4.0

Overview: Industry 4.0 is an initiative by the German government which promotes the integration of industrial production with information and communication technologies. The programme enables students to acquire a better understanding of current and future requirements in production technology.

Module 5: Robotics for Future Industrial Applications

Overview: This programme is all about the engineering, controlling and programming of robots. The lectures introduce fundamental theoretical knowledge in robotics and are complemented by lab classes, in which students apply their acquired knowledge in practical projects.

School of Electrical Engineering

3 weeks (June 15 to July 3, 2020)

Module 1: Sustainable Energy Technology

Overview: The programme introduces mathematical and physical basics of building energy performance modeling and simulation, the implementation of models using computer-based numerical methods, computer algebra systems and object-oriented modeling language Modelica.

2 weeks (June 29 to July 10, 2020)

Module 2: Smart Electrical Power Systems

Overview: Students receive an overview of current challenges and new technologies with regards to the future electric grid. Topics include the distribution and transfer of direct current, measurement and monitoring methods in modern power systems, as well as energy storage systems.

School of Civil Engineering

2 weeks (July)

Module: Structural Engineering of Industrial Facilities

Overview: This Summer School highlights the analysis and design of industrial facilities in regard to exceptional and dynamic loads, enabling students to better understand the conceptual design process of industrial structures and components.

University for the Creative Arts, UK who were here at REVA late December, 2019 have come forward to invite our students to their International Creative Summer School programme to be held at Canterbury, UK between the 20th of July, 2020 and 31st of July, 2020. (2 weeks)

UCA is the second largest provider of creative education in Europe. Over the past year UCA has received recognition and awards which offer strong evidence that it is now one of the top creative universities in the UK.

UC Riverside offers the following programmes for students to take up:

1] UCP- Students enrolling in Credit courses at the Undergraduate and Graduate level through International Educational programmes[IEP] UCP programme will pay US$5950 per quarter which allows students take 12 academic Credits.Additional credits can be taken for 350$ per credit.Tuition fees are guaranteed for 2019.Ref website www.iep.ucr.edu. .Quarter start dates around in Sept,Jan,March and June.

2] Post Graduate certificates and Diplomas- IEP will provide Indian students who will graduate and graduated from Indian Universities use the opportunity to enroll in IEP’s 3 Months Post graduate certificate in Management [PGCM] ,IEP’s 6 months Post graduate certificate in Applied Management [PGCAM] or in IEP’s 9 months Post graduate Diploma in Engineering Management [PGDEM] or in Bio Engineering Management [PGDBM].Students who complete all 3 quarter [9 months] PGDEM/ PGDBM programmes are eligible for one year OPT.

3] Postgraduate Programme fees are as below-

  • 3 months PGCM - US $ 7900
  • 6 months PGCAM -$ 10,300
  • 9 months PGDEM/PGDBM -$ 18,200 -Will be eligible for one year OPT

REVA has initiated the first Extension programme for Schools of Applied Sciences, Business Studies and Legal Studies with U C Berkeley. As we all know U C Berkeley is the one of the largest Public Universities and Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley is the second oldest business school in the United States.

UC Berkeley Extension International Programmes will be carried out through mobility of undergraduate and/or graduate students under the Berkeley Global Access Programme, Berkeley Haas Global Access Programme, Legal Studies Global Access Programme, Immersives and Professional Diploma Programmes, Concurrent Enrollment Programme, and the Berkeley Physics International Education (BPIE) Programme.

This programme is open for the Business School students, Legal Studies students, School of Applied Sciences (Physics) students desiring to go for their Extension study of a semester abroad

U C Berkeley Summer Sessions

REVA has an active engagement with U C Berkeley California for the Summer Sessions starting this May, 2020. These summer sessions are open to students of all disciplines and the following are the session dates:

Session A: May 26 - July 2, 2020

Session B: June 8 - August 14, 2020

Session C: June 22 - August 14, 2020

Session D: July 6 - August 14 2020

Session E: July 27 - August 14, 2020

Session F: July 6 - July 24, 2020

Session 12W: May 26 - August 14, 2020

This means that the applications have to be completed and need to be submitted latest 1st of April, 2020. Interested students may please connect with their respective School Coordinators or write to the International office of REVA

Berkeley Global Legal Studies Online Programme (BGLS Online Programme invites all the Legal Studies, Humanities and Social Sciences and Engineering Schools for their new Law programme for those students aspiring to pursue Law in the US. Credit transfers and certification will be worked on accordingly. Timings will be worked on for sessions by U C Berkeley as per our requirement. Priority admission will be granted for REVA students aspiring to pursue their studies in U C Berkeley later on.

Programme fee: $4500 ($2500 scholarships are available for REVA Students)

Liverpool John Moores University has the following options for REVA final year students:

  • Students visiting REVA from Liverpool to study in the summer and winter schools of the Schools of Architecture and Performing Arts
  • Liverpool has offered work-based placement opportunities for REVA students which includes internship for 4-8 weeks in the UK

What is on offer:

  • Internships of 4-8 weeks duration, including a short induction programme by
  • Placement to run in June and/or July
  • The placement can range from work shadowing, to general work experience to skilled/relevant paid/unpaid internships.

The session is an initiative by M.S. Construction Administration programme at Columbia University School of Professional Studies and WSP
