Coming home to REVA

Coming home to REVA

REVA hosted its Alumni Day in the campus with much ado this month. It was very overwhelming to see students who graduated from our very portals back at campus filled with pride and enthusiasm. I say pride, because they have all created an identity for themselves in the world. Enthusiasm, is what I noticed when they were happy to meet their faculty and the juniors to share all that they had achieved or what they were working on in their various roles in their professions. It was also heartening to read messages received from those students who could not make it and the response to digital reach was immense.

Standing there in the midst of the alumni, my feelings were mixed of emotion and pride. Emotion for I felt like a mother who was happy to welcome back her daughter who she had preciously guarded when she was with her, mentored and groomed her to face the outside world and given the best of the opportunity for her to grow.  Pride--because I saw that they were doing what they could to the world and contributing their best to the world at large.  I always say that to my team, that seeing them grow and prosper is the most gratifying part of being an educator.

It was very heartening for me as the Chancellor to hear students articulate how they would like to contribute to REVA and come back and render services either as guest talks, share their initial work experience in sessions with Juniors, partner in the social cause movements that REVA has been indulging in and also build on our network with the industry. This would perhaps be the greatest value addition to REVA from the Alumni and a commendable gesture from the REVA Alumni.

As a University we take pride in our alumni and it is welcoming to have them back in the campus even if it is for a short time spent with us. They are our Brand ambassadors and we will always be proud of them wherever they are. In their success lies our success.  It is gladdening to read this small post by one of our students, which I thought I must share in my blog…thank you Akshay Rajashekaran: https://akshayrajsheakaran.com/shyama-raju/

Thank you students and we look forward to your next visit to REVA!
