There has been a lot of excitement and debate on the New Education Policy and all eyes are on how Higher Education Institutions will start planning the execution and implementation of the NEP. While the main point of highlight of the NEP is the effort to bring to the forefront quality driven Universities; promoting multidisciplinary Universities of excellence across the country is also the focal point of the new policy. In turn this will require effective leadership and a new stream of thought by all faculty in Universities for the drivers of this change is important in any set up.
As a young, progressive University, REVA has been working towards this in the last 3 to 4 years already. Hence I do not see this to be a major challenge. Our curriculum is aligned with industry requirement, our BOS already has maximum number of industry personnel and REVA offers more than 14 disciplines of study. We are like the one stop solution for all disciplines and this year we have gone ahead and offered Bio-Electronics Engineering….so it is easy for Universities who have these goals set ahead of time to align with the NEP is my strong belief. This Teachers Day, we need to reassure ourselves that we are confident that we will implement NEP in the right spirit step by step.
This year being the Crystal year for REVA as RECT began its sojourn in education 15 years ago, the journey when I look back has been an interesting one starting from smaller set ups of colleges to creating a University in the last five years. All of this is possible only with a supported and dedicated team. Commemorating this year with all the teachers who are the pillars of support to REVA as a group we shall ensure the celebrations are done virtually and both students, well wishers and other stakeholders join us in this memorable milestone. Celebrating milestones also implies that we recognize the journey taken thus far and an appropriate occasion for me to thank the Board of Trustees, the stakeholders who have reposed trust in us and made us what we are today. The decision from being a group of Institutions to the establishment of a University was a major move and with our ambitious plans we have been successful in creating a niche for ourselves in the arena of Education. I link with this, the contribution of all the teachers who I was fortunate to have with us and express my personal thanks to all of them.
