FAREWELL TO 2022
Inspired, Motivated and HOPEFUL

“Your education is a dress rehearsal for a life that is yours to lead.” – Nora Ephron.

I am amazed and hopeful at the same time about how each year unfolds right in front of our eyes. Looking back over the past year, I am sure that REVA University is blessed in many ways. As I look to the future, I believe that we are focussed on making REVA a top-choice University in our nation and a role model university for all aspirants. As the year draws to a close, I am proud of and happy with how our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends have worked to further our objective of improving lives through education.

On many different levels, this year has been satisfying for me. The fact that we are moving towards growing as a Social Impact University and have embraced the Sustainable Development Goals makes me incredibly happy and proud. In accordance with our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji's ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ campaign and in support of his efforts to help India reach its goals for the 2030 United Nations development plan, we have embraced four of the SDGs in the first phase. Gladdening to note that we have in alignment with this conducted several activities at various levels. We have come a long way, whether it is through Panchavaktram, which promotes the Indian Knowledge System through our rich Indian dance and heritage, Nyaya Darshana, which gives women lawyers more power, or Samaavesha, which aims to be inclusive of transgender people. I am sure that it will undoubtedly improve in the coming year as well as we surge forward in pursuing the attainment of the goals.

On the professional level, REVA is gradually and steadily rising for the better. We have entered the QS Asian Rankings for the year 2023. As per this, we are ranked 6th among all private universities in Karnataka and 47th among private universities in India. Without every one of you, this would not have been possible.

On a personal level, I was appointed as the Chairman of India ASEAN Trade Council during the Indian ASEAN Summit 2022 which was held in REVA. It was double joy for me personally as well as the Chancellor of REVA as we could host such an event of international stature. I also can’t forget the amount of support and dedication shown by everyone in REVA to go back to our in-person Convocation this year after a low-profile convocation over the past few years. We planned and organised the event beautifully and I sincerely appreciate every one of you for your dedication. I am also happy that all of you have adopted and welcomed our new Pro Chancellor Umesh Raju with open arms.

The New Year is just a month away and I cannot but be hopeful about the future goals and accomplish them. I am inspired and motivated to see REVA in a new realm, work towards it and reach newer milestones in the next year.
