The School of Computer Science and Engineering of REVA University has launched three new programmes  recently for the undergraduate students - B.Tech. in Datascience,  B.Tech. in IOT and  B.Tech. in CyberSecurity. 

The school has a research center in which students can conduct cutting edge research leading to a Ph.D. degree. Curriculum has been designed through a collaboration of academic and industry experts in order to bridge the growing gap between industry and academia. The B.Tech. programs aims to create quality human resources to play leading roles in the contemporary, competitive industrial and corporate world. 

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Cybersecurity)
In a constantly evolving tech world, surrendering to the cyberspace has become inevitable. Organizations face various challenges pertaining to cyber-security today, that involves security breaches, ineffective security protocols, dearth of 24/7 support, security threats faced by the employees and the unpreparedness for those threats, phishing and lack of training about security threats and scams. With constantly changing ways of hacking and cyber crimes, it is quite challenging to tweak cyber security systems to be a fool proof. 

Programme Overview:
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Cybersecurity) covers the fundamentals of computer science, programming, automation, and various applications of Cybersecurity in the areas of Information security governance, risk management, cyber incident response plan, hybrid cloud data backup, access controls, email and online protection, vulnerability assessments, and security, etc.

A 4-year undergraduate engineering degree focusing on practical and theoretical knowledge of computer science and cyberspace security, it covers most of the foundational aspects of computing and engineering skills for problem-solving.

The program is designed keeping in mind the exponential growth in the usage of information technology by individuals, private and government sectors and a rising demand of cybersecurity professionals to countermeasure online cyber-attacks and protect cyberspace from various vulnerabilities. The job requirements for cybersecurity professionals are expected to grow rapidly in India and Abroad to protect cyber space, sensitive information, and also digital assets. 

This program is intended to produce highly skilled cybersecurity professionals who can protect cyberspace and also meet various security requirements of the private and government sectors. The program has been designed with inputs from industry professionals and academic experts from various Universities in India and abroad. Some of the important courses of study include cryptography, cyber laws, web security, mobile application security, network security, digital forensics, artificial intelligence, ethical hacking, security architecture, and cloud security with solid theoretical foundation and project-based skills.

B.Tech. CSE (Data Science)
B. Tech in Computer Science with specialization in Data Science (DS) is a new & a growing field which consists of a set of tools and techniques used to extract useful information from data. The programme encompasses data Science as an interdisciplinary, problem-solving oriented subject that learns to apply scientific techniques to practical problems. The course curriculum involves a blend of data inference, algorithm development, and technology to analytically solve complex problems.

The programme aims to train students with systematic professional knowledge and strong practical skills in the fields of computer technology communications networks and IT that provides a wide range of applications in the Internet of Things.

Internet of Things (IoT) is an interdisciplinary program which has a vast scope of usage. IoT generally refers to a growing network of internet-connected devices that find various applications in engineering and sciences. When objects are interconnected across the world it allows people or things using those objects to be connected anytime to make human life easy and convenient.
