Objectives – To enlighten the students about the development of Indian TV and the recent trends

The Department of Media Studies celebrated 60 years of Indian Television on 16th and 17th September 2019. On the first day,Ajith Hanamakkanavar, Head, News and Programmes, Suvarna News 24x7 interacted with the UG and PG journalism students in the Library Seminar Hall. Students of both UG and PG Journalism attended the programme. 
In the beginning he presented various facets of journalism profession and later in the interactive session he patiently and satisfactorily answered the questions of students.
On 17th September 2017, interesting episodes of the popular serials and other programmes of Doordarshan were screened for the students. On the same day, an intra-university anchoring competition was conducted in the media lab. Students from different schools participated in the event and showcased their talent.
