The Department of Biotechnology, School of Applied Sciences organized a career orientation talk on 18/05/2022. The resource person for the talk was Dr. Rajeev Soni, Chief Scientific Officer, Genei Labs. Pvt. Ltd.,Bengaluru, who holds three decades of experience and expertise in various domains namely management, scientific, entrepreneurship, and laboratory design and development. The talk was conducted offline in Junjappa auditorium, SoAS block. 58 undergraduate and postgraduate students from Biotechnology, Microbial technology and Bioinformatics attended the session.
The session started with a brief introduction of the resource person by Dr. Santosh Anand followed by welcoming the guest. Dr. Soni started his talk with the achievements of the scientists from the University of Cambridge narrating how ideas develop and come to reality. Later he enlightened the students regarding the evolution of technologies and their applicative counterparts. Dr. Soni deliberated a plethora of skills what a company demands for the selection process. He also mentioned regarding the importance of attitude during an interview session. Further, he shared his interviewing experiences as an interviewer in different companies that he worked before.
