The Department of Biotechnology, School of Applied Sciences organized 2nd International conference with the theme of “Global Trends in Applied Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences” in collaboration with Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. The inaugural session was followed by keynote address and plenary talks.
The highlight of the technical session was the lecture by Prof. Dr. Ada E. Yonath, Nobel Laureate, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel on Next generation antibiotics. The Day 1 sessions by Prof. ls. Ts. Dr. Pau-Loke SHOW, Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Nottingham Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Sreeramanan Subramaniam, School of Biological Sciences, Universiti Sains, Malaysia, Prof. Dr. K.N.S. Sirajudeen Professor, Head, Kulliyyah of Medicine, International Islamic University Malaysia took the participants through diversified domains of sciences with unique and interesting areas such a algal biofuels, LED on plant growth and secondary metabolite production, Honey and neuroprotection. The technical talks were followed by oral and poster presentation competitions.
