The 159th Birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna sir. M. Visvesvaraya was celebrated as engineer's day on 16.9.2019 at Kuvempu auditorium from 9:30 AM. The Engineers day Celebration commenced with a welcome speech by the Dr. S.Y Kulkarni, Vice chancellor, REVA University. It was followed by lighting of the lamp by dignitaries; the president of the function Dr P. Shyamaraju, Hon'ble Chancellor, REVA university; The chief guest Dr Karisidappa, Vice chancellor, VTU, Belagavi; Dr. M. Dhanamjaya, Registrar; Dr. S.Y Kulkarni, Vice chancellor; Guest of honor Sri Manjunath R Airport Authority of India, Mysore, Sri Satish Kumar, Director, Cloud wave technologies Pvt.ltd, Sri LTCDR Ravi Sathaynarayana; Dr Y Ramalinga Reddy Director civil Engg & Associate dean School of Civil & Mechanical engineering, REVA university.
The Chief guest Dr. Karisidappa, Vice chancellor VTU Belagavi, was felicitated by Dr P. Shyamaraju Hon'ble Chancellor, REVA University by giving award of “REVA ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE AWARD”.
Addressing to the students the chief guest Dr. Karisidappa Vice chancellor VTU Belagavi; suggested students to achieve success in their selected fields of engineering courses and now a day's electronics gadgets is ruling the young generation of students and it should not be addicted, students should come out from the gadgets and should try to innovate and learn in order to gain the success.
Sri Manjunath, Sri Satish Kumar & Sri LTCDR Ravi Sathyanarayana were also felicitated for their contributions in the Engineering field.
The Vote of thanks was presided by Dr M. Dhanamjaya, Registrar REVA University, Bangalore.
Followed by the 1st key note session was presented to the students and faculty members of school Civil Engineering by Sri Manjunath R, Airport Authority of India, Mysore on the topic "Airport authority management A" Case study on Sikkim and Mysore airports".
Followed by this the 2nd key note session was presented to the students and faculty members of school civil engineering by Dr S.K. Prasad, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering ,SJCE Mysore on the topic "Relevance of earth quake resistance geotechnical engineering in construction industry".
Followed by this the 3rd key note session was presented to the students and faculty members of school civil engineering by S. Raghunath, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, BMS college of Engineering, Bangalore, on the topic "Structural and architectural Potential of Masonry"
A total of 1100 Students and Faculty members were present and made the Engineers day a Grand Success.
