Description: School of ECE in association with EICT Academy IIT Roorkee organized five day FDP programme  in the area of “ Embedded System and Wireless Sensor Network for IoT”. This programme was supported by Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.  Forty three members had enrolled for the programme which included 27 faculty from REVA University and 15 from other universities/Industry/research centers. Experts from Industry STEPS Knowledge Services Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore were the resource persons who took all the practical sessions. The programme was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor on 24.2.2020 at 9.30am in Aryabhatta seminar hall. The Chief Guest for the programme was Mrs.N Kavitha, Technical Director, STEPS Knowledge Services Pvt. Ltd.

The focus areas were:

• Overview of IoT and its roadmap,
• Opportunities & challenges in implementing IoT solutions.
• Connectivity solutions using CC3200 
• Wi-Fi accessing HTML page from HTTP.
• Working with MQTT protocol and pushing the sensor data to the IBM cloud.
• Configuring mobile App in Android/IOS to visualize the data.

The Objectives of the Course were:

• Establishing basic concepts and key components of Internet of Things.
• Hands-on training in handling IoT building blocks using commercially available components.
• Understanding the interaction between cloud computation and sensors.
• Troubleshooting the errors while implementing IoT for practical applications
