Field Visit Report: Visit to Reva University Agriculture Fields, Banglore - India

The students of B.Arch and B.Sc programs visited the agriculture fields at Reva University for an interdisciplinary field exposure, guided and supported by Prof. Shrikanth M, Prof. Manjunath M K, and Researcher Nagarjuna from the Department of Agricultural Engineering. The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into plantation procedures, transplantation techniques, drip irrigation systems, and sustainable farming methods. Researcher Nagarjuna demonstrated the systematic approach to seed sowing, plant spacing, and root handling during transplantation. A detailed explanation and live demonstration of drip irrigation highlighted water conservation methods and the maintenance of irrigation components. Students were introduced to manual and mechanical weed removal practices, the preparation and use of grow bags, and vegetable production methods. They participated in the sowing of tomato seeds and hands-on transplantation activities. The hands-on activities allowed them to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, making the session a meaningful and educational experience.
