Immersion Programme for School of Legal Studies

REVA School of Legal Studies offers a 7 days Immersion Programme for students who have enrolled at REVA to pursue their dreams in the domain of law. The programme is online and presented in a webinar series to introduce the law aspirants to contemporary legal issues. The objective of the programme is to acquaint young aspirants with career opportunities in law and share an insight into how the School of Legal Studies at REVA functions. This platform will also introduce students to the legal aspects of the recent events taking place globally. The students will understand the relationship between law, social issues, economy and politics.

Day 1: 3/08/2020 – School of Legal Studies: An overview

• A glimpse of the opportunities available to students in the aspects of academics, co-circular and extra-circular activities.  
• Exploring various career options in the field of law.

Day 2: 5/08/2020- Political Feminism in India

• Significance and the rise of women participation in the Indian political scenario
• Impact of women’s activism as against patriarchy

Day 3: 7/08/2020- Anti Defection Laws 

• Understanding anti-defection laws.
• Case study based on the current political scenario in the state of Rajasthan

Day 4: 10/08/2020- Impact of COVID-19 on Economy

• Lockdown impact on the economy and the legal perspective 
• Coping with these times and understanding the Government regulations

Day 5: 12/08/2020- Employee termination during COVID 19

• Changing work trends due to the lockdown and the way forward
• Attrition and termination of employees

Day 6: 14/08/2020- Legality of banning Chinese Applications 

• Indian government move to ban Chinese Applications and the legal aspects entwined
• Global reactions to China and its impact

Day 7: 17/08/2020- GDPR rules

• Protecting privacy in the digital world 
• Exploring the relevance of General Data Protection Rules in today’s context.
