Industrial Visit to CENTRAL FOOD TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Department of Biochemistry, School of Allied Health Sciences had organized an Industrial tour for First year M.Sc Biochemistry students to CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru on 03-01-2024. 29 students were a part of this Industrial visit. DR. Vivek Rao, Principal Scientist, Food Protectants & Infestation Control (FPIC) Department, CSIR-. CFTRI, gave a brief Introduction about the Institute and the importance of scientific methods involved in storage and preservation of food commodities. Furthermore, Dr Singh R P. Chief Scientist, Department of Biochemistry introduced his team and explained his forte of research and the internship/project offered at their Institute. Students also got an opportunity to visit the animal house where rodent’s behaviour like memory, intelligence, physiology and brain health and others aspects were inspected. Overall it was a great experience to gain good research attitude and ethics.
