Jute Industry Revival Program “Entrepreneurs of Bharath”

School of Management Studies of REVA University organized a Guest Lecture on "Motivation and Determination on career enhancement" on 6th June 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in CK Prahalad Seminar Hall, Swami Vivekananda block. The guest lecture gathers eminent speaker: Mr. Amitabh Anand, Associate Professor, Excelia Business School, La Rochelle, France. The talk was attended by 120 students, the Director, School of Management Studies, Dr. Nitu Ghosh, Director, IRC, Dr. P. Visweswara Rao, and 12 School of management Studies faculty members.

Profile of the Resource Person-

Dr. Amitabh Anand hailing from Karnataka, India, is presently the Associate Professor for Excelia Business School in La Rochelle, France. Previously he has held positions as Assistant Professor at SKEMA Business School, Université Côte d'Azur. Dr Amitabh holds a bachelor's in Environmental Engineering degree from, Mysore India, He secured a scholarship to do MBA from Stockholm University, Sweden and full scholarship winner for pursuing a PhD from NEOMA Business School, Paris, France. Presently he is also in the process of defending his HDR (a second PhD) from Aix Marseille University, France – where he also serves as the affiliated researcher. Dr. Amitabh also holds a position at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode as a "Research Advisory Committee Member", where he is supervising one doctoral student and also as a "Research Fellow" at the HSE National Research University, Russia, where he is supervising three doctoral students.

He has won several awards in research: "Academy of Management Conference, USA Best Paper Proceedings Award” "Excellence in Peer Review" from South Asian Journal of Human Resources, "Emerging Scholar Award" from organization studies research network in Germany. For his contribution to teaching and impact on student learning, he is the only one from Europe to be chosen as the "Top 50 Worlds Best Professor" among 400 nominations worldwide by Poets and Quants, USA. For his innovative course design, he has won the Outstanding "Pedagogical Innovation Award" by SKEMA business school. His research works are published in FT-Top 50 journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing and ABS-4* British Journal of Management and other Rank A journals such as Human Resource Management Review, Information System Frontiers, Computers in Human Behaviour, Journal of Knowledge Management, Personnel Review, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Service, etc. Furthermore, He is the Associate Editor (Review) in the Journal, International Studies of Management and Organization (ABDC-B) and has been a Guest Editor of Information System Frontiers Journal (ABS-3*) and part of the Editorial advisory/review board of "International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research" (ABS-3*), "Management Decision" (ABDC-B), "Employee Relations" (ABDC-B), "International Journal of Organizational Analysis" (ABDC-B).

He is a member of the European Academy of Management He is a visiting professor for universities in India, Russia, and the Nordics. His research is interdisciplinary, with a particular emphasis on organizational studies in the context of individual, interpersonal, group behaviours, and entrepreneurship in the context of ethics, uncertainty, sustainability, and emerging economies, and, understanding the regular consumption pattern behaviour from the context of products/services and digital technology. Along with these, he is proficient with bibliometric and conceptual literature reviews and works on designing methods to improve academic scholars' scientific consistency, methodological rigour and reproducibility.

Event Flow-

The MC of the guest lecture, Prof. Bharti Ayer, gave the welcome address. Prof. Jalaja read the profile of the guest speaker. Dr. Nitu Ghosh and Dr. P. Visweswara Rao welcomed the guest with a token of appreciation. The session was very interactive, and students participated enthusiastically. In the beginning, Mr. Anand introduced his journey in life, including his research interest, and focused on his career. He spoke about the importance of determination in a job and success in life.

The session was concluded by a Question-and-Answer round in which students interacted with Dr. Anand and formal vote of thanks. As per the feedback received from the participants, it was an excellent learning experience, and the lecture helped them understand the importance of determination in career enhancement.
