School of Architecture REVA University, organized a public seminar: Vaastu Purusha Mandala: The Master Grid as part of Knowledge Series 3.0
Brief:Vastu Saastra is an ancient science which covers the philosophy and theory of Architectural works to construct any building as well as living style of people. It is based on various natural energies, which are available free of cost in atmosphere. Vaastu considered the interplay of various forces of nature involving the five elements of earth, water, wind, fire and ether and strives to maintain equilibrium as these elements influence, guide and change the living styles of not only human beings but every living being on earth. Thus it influence our deeds, luck, behavior and basics of life.

About the speakers: Smt. Sudha Pai, International Vaidic consultant, Bangalore. She studied Vaidic Vastu Shastra from Veda Vignan Maha Vidya Peeth of Art of Living, Bangalore under the tutelage of “Vastu Vidya Vachaspati” Dr. N.H.Sahasrabuddhe, of Pune, alumnus of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Founder of “Sahasra Mahavastu”, author of over 25 books on Vastu Shastra. Mrs. Sudha Pai has been conferred the title “Vastu Saraswati” in recognition of her excellence in scriptural studies. Smt. Sudha Pai begun with explaining the ancient scriptural references behind the origin of Vaastu Vidya.
Architect Anup Kumar Prasad is a Scientist at Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee. He works in multiple facets of architecture. He has a Bachelor of Architecture from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and a Master's in Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design from Politecnico Di Milano, Italy. His research fields are Passive Architecture, Reviving vernacular Architecture, Vaastu Sastra in Architecture, Architectural Acoustics, and Landscape Design.
Inauguration commenced with a brief welcome speech by Ar Mahima Jagadeesh by highlighting the significance of Vaastu Shastra for the budding and practicing architect by unraveling the science behind it.
The session was commenced by Scientist Anup Kumar Prasad. His presentation on Vaastu Shastra Tool for making home was based on scientific facts. He has covered Vaastu Shastra insight by considering, Orientation, in the relationship with the three energy (Treemurthi) Sattva, Rajas and Tamas, including the five elements (Panch Bhootas) in design guidelines.

She has explained the significance of the Pancha Maha Bhutas and its effect on Microcosm and human life. Further she established the relation of pancha Bhutas with the directions and orientation.
Begun with the continuation of Vaastu Shastra theory by Smt. Sudha Pai. She elaborated the significance of several energy in accordance with positive and negative direction. Further the directional influence on birth chart and Family Members.
Question and Answer session : After the presentation, questions and queries from the audience was taken and answered them the best way possible.
The Seminar concluded with Thank you note by Assistant professor Ar Shreya Mishra.
