Navigating the Geopolitical Flux: Implications for Maritime Trade, Security and Ocean Governance

On 18 September 2026, Dr. Devender Kumar, Head, School of Geopolitics and Public Policy, Faculty of Liberal Studies, REVA University, moderator the panel discussion titled “Navigating the Geopolitical Flux: Implications for Maritime Trade, Security and Ocean Governance” organised by the Centre for International Law and Policy, School of Legal Studies in collaboration with Indian Maritime University, Chennai, and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). The event brought together eminent experts and scholars to deliberate on contemporary challenges and emerging trends in maritime trade, security, strategic competition, and ocean governance.

The penal included speakers such as Commodore (Dr.) Srikant Kesnur, Commodore (Dr.) Pramod Kulkarni, Prof. Aruna Kammila. The deliberations highlighted the increasing interconnectedness between geopolitical developments and maritime security, while emphasizing the need for a comprehensive and integrated approach to ocean governance encompassing strategic, economic, legal, and institutional dimensions.​​
