Report on Field visit to Jakkalmadagu Reservoir and Water treatment plant

Field trip was organized for the 4th sem D section students to Jakkalmadagu Reservoir and Water treatment plant on 28/06/2022. 50 Students, 2 faculties and 1 staff.

Reservoir has storage capacity of 4,125 million liters water. The Jakkalamadagu reservoir is a main source of drinking water for Chikballapur town. Water treatment has aeration tank, primary lamella sludge blanket clarifiers and rapid gravity filtration to treat the water and supply the safe water for chikballapur. The main purpose for this visit was to give the practical knowledge about how raw water is treated and how water is distributed in different village. The students got the theoretical and practical knowledge of different process carried out in treatment plant.
