Visit to site near Nagavara Lake, proposed for 100 bed Hospital

Students: 26 Students, VII Semester, School of Architecture

The site visit was organized for students of VII semester, B.Arch. students of the school of Architecture, based on their academic design project of VII semester. The design proposal given to students is to design a 100 bedded Hospital. The site selected for the project is next to Nagavara lake owned by Karle Developers. 
 
The site map was plotted based on google Maps by students. The site is accessible via double road facing Nagavara Lake (9m wide road adjoined with 3m footpath). In total, the available plot area is 15 acres, out of which 7 acres have been extracted for Hospital Project. It is surrounded by Tech Park and residential towers on the eastern side, the main road on the western side, a vacant plot on the northern side, Karle administrative office on the southern side.
 
The site has undulation and a deep trench in the center of about 4m. The site is covered with bushes and no big trees, only on the southern side braced with a line of the bamboo plantation developed by Karle owners.
 
Because of its accessibility and its surroundings with residential towers, Tech Park, neighborhoods, Prominent location the site was found to be suitable for Designing Hospital. 
 
The students observed surroundings, breeze direction, context, building line in the vicinity and got an idea about the site in all respects.
