About the Event/Activity: School of Architecture, REVA University organized a site visit to two identified sites along the Kodigehalli Main Road in Sahakar Nagar for the Zostel/Backpacker hostel design project as a part of the Architectural Design Studio -III
The main intention of the site visit was to understand the site context based on various parameters like access, approach, surroundings, land use, traffic flow, site features like vegetation, compound wall, encroachments etc.
Outcome of the Event: The students measured the site dimensions, checked the orientation of the site, identified the primary and secondary roads, understood the surroundings with respect to the land use and mapped the site features.
This visit will help the students in conducting a site study and analysis which will further assist with contextual solutions for the design problem. The student will collate all the data collected through sketches and illustrations in the site study and analysis.
