Technical Talk on Modelling, Simulation and FEM

Description of the event:
The School of Mechanical Engineering had organized Technical for 6th semester D and E section students of Mechanical Engineering, REVA University on “Modelling, Simulation and FEM” on Wednesday, 29th January, 2020 between 02.00 PM to 3.20 PM. Around 100 students of 6th semester D and E section   and 06 Faculty members of Mechanical Engineering are benefited from technical Talk, Dr Dilip K Mahanty, Vice Chairman, NAFEMS India Operations, Bangalore-560043, was the resource person. 

Talk focused on the following key points:

• Introduction to Modelling and Simulation.
• Need of Modelling and Simulation in solving engineering problems.
• Importance of numerical methods in soling complex structures.
• Application of Finite Element Methods (FEM) with respect to industrial problems.

Following are the outcomes with this Expert talk

• An ability to describe the need of Modelling and Simulation & its application.
• An able to select suitable Finite Element Methods to solve the engineering problem.
• An able to select different Finite element for a given problem by applying boundary conditions.
• An able to choose suitable FEM software from the different software available.
