Dr. Vijai Shankar Balachandran, Lead Scientist, Materials and Micro analysis, Advanced Analytical Sciences. Professor delivered lecture on Understanding Materials by Electron Microscopy. Electron microscopy has become indispensable in materials research and production. It has found niche in addressing several manufacturing and research challenges. Technological advancement in electron detection and vacuum systems has simplified the technology and become a ready to approach technique for all sectors from students to industrial manufacturing. The talk will introduce the audience to various methods of materials analysis using SEM and EDS techniques and help them understand and appreciate its contribution to materials research.
