Railways is one of the important mode of transportation for fright and passengers. Makalidurga is around 18 kms from Doddaballapur and is just past the junction of Ghati Subrahmanya. This railway route is known for big boulders and hills around it. Yeshwantpur-Vijayawada passenger train and Bangalore to Gauribidanur will pass Makalidurga on the way.Fifth semester students divided in to two batches and visited field on 17/11/2022 and 18/11/2022.Students were to practical knowledge of various components and geometric design elements of railway track. 

Field Visit Outcome:  

• Students were exposed to various components of Railway track. 
• The field visit helped students in understanding the geometric design elements and its importance in railway track.  
• This visit enabled students to practically expose to the joints and fittings used in track. 
• Students got the opportunity to listen to the engineer who works in Railway department.
