World Mental Health Day Fest

“Kind to Your Mind”

On account of World Mental Health Day 2022, the Department of Psychology, School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences organized two-days fest titled “Kind to Your Mind” on 20th and 21st October, 2022.

The events on 21.10.2022 were

Tattoo Studio (#lifecontinues): Students drew semi-colon tattoos using paints to spread awareness through symbols which started at 10:00 AM and continued till evening.

Positivity Corners (#gushofdopamine): The event was set up at 10:00 AM and the participants came over to share about the positive experiences that happened to them, also wrote thoughts that is inspiring and motivating.

Art Gallery (#artitout): This was a corner filled with arts, music and balloons, where students displayed their art works and also expressed their emotions and thoughts through the art from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Psychological Assessment Stall: 18 stalls were set up each of which were assessing one dimension of human characteristics starting from 10:00 AM till the evening.

Pick and Talk: Participants were invited to talk about their peer problem solving. How a problem can be solved from their perspective. The event was from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.

Focus Group Discussion: The event had a group of 12 – 14 participants, who discussed on the theme of “how mental health can be made a global priority” held from 10:30 to 12:00 PM.

Movie Screening: At 1:30 PM “Inside Out” movie was screened which was followed by discussion about emotions and handle various emotions.

On 21st October, 2022 it was inter-school as well as an intercollegiate fest. The events included positivity corners (#gushofdopamine), Tattoo Studio (#lifecontinues), Art Gallery (#artitout), Mandala Drawing workshop and competitions open to all and they were Photography, Face Painting, Who dunnit?, Turn the Coat, and Treasure Hunt.

We had participants from the School of Computer Science and Applications, Legal Studies, Architecture, Management Studies, Engineering, REVA Business School, Commerce, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences within the University. Participants were also present from MES Degree College of Arts, Science and Commerce.

We had around 800 participants who visited the above events and took part in the competitions and received very good response from everybody. The fest was concluded with a valedictory ceremony on 21.10.2022, during which the winners of the competitions were awarded with a certificate. We received good feedback from all the participants.
