Celebrating Founder’s Day and the Success of REVA Alumni

Celebrating Founder’s Day and the Success of REVA Alumni

As the country celebrated the 73rd Republic Day, the team at REVA too celebrated the glorious day with much pride. However, this year, we had one more reason to rejoice and cheer. REVA University alumni Nitheesh Kumar K, a former Mechanical student, who graduated from the university in 2016, was one among the many pilots who displayed the ‘73’ air formation on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.

As the jets soared high in the sky, a sense of pride, commitment towards nurturing more such talents, and enabling an open learning environment that allows students to pursue their dreams, took over me. I was excited to know my students are dreaming big and have the skills and confidence to achieve their dreams. I was pleased to realize we have played an important role in shaping our students’ future.

Interestingly, this is not the first time REVA alumni have made their alma mater proud at national events and important occasions. Last year, Sq. Leader Neha Yadav, and Kuttappa, had made their presence felt in the R Day celebrations.

Flying Officer Kuttappa K K, was at the front, and centre in the Republic Day Parade of 2021, leading the Indian Airforce Contingent, as one of the supernumerary officers. He was commissioned in 2019 into the Indian Airforce in the rank of Flying Officer. Kuttapa joined Electronics and Communication Engineering programme at REVA in 2012. In 2016, Flying Officer Kuttappa had bagged a job offer during campus placement and worked with Amazon for one year, before he cleared Airforce entrance exams.

I am very delighted to see such accomplishments of our alumni. Such successes should inspire the younger generation of students and they should be motivated to serve the nation. I am happy REVA University is laying the foundation in the right direction to inspire students, hone their skills, and shape their future.

Inspiring a young community through Founder’s Day

Another initiative of REVA University that aims to inspire the student community is the celebration of Founder’s Day on campus. On 06 January every year, REVA University recognises eminent personalities who have made remarkable contributions to society and celebrates their journey. On this Founder’ Day 2022, REVA University conferred REVA Lifetime Achievement Award to accomplished personalities like folklorist Dr. Chandrashekar Kambar, distinguished DRDO scientist and Director Dr. Tessy Thomas, and Kannada actor-producer Dr. V. Ravichandran.

I was happy to see the chief guests under one roof as the recipients were popular in their own fields and it was a perfect amalgamation of Arts and Literature, Science and Technology, and Entertainment. While addressing the gathering, each one of the awardees, in their own way, inspired students and encouraged them to be better. The takeaway for students was they should create their own path, work hard, focus on their goals, and they will be unique and distinct, and will eventually achieve their goals.

I strongly believe such positive influences and words of encouragement are important to boost confidence in students. Amid much cheer, the students witnessed the celebrations and it was heartening to see the event conclude successfully.

The entire team at REVA University ensured that COVID protocols were strictly followed and even with hundreds of people in attendance, there was social distancing and COVID appropriate behaviour followed strictly.

I wish to see REVA University and our students including alumni reach new heights!
