School of Architecture, REVA University organized a Twinning Studio along with SVS School of architecture “A Two day joint studio to explore design collaboration”for the students of 6th semesters as part of their curriculum on 29th-30th January, 2020
In architectural education system, collaborative studio learning as opposed to the usual classroom lectures are new experience for students to face them with new situations that expect them to expose themselves to others critique and learn how to find creative solutions.
The team of 40 students and four staff members from SVS School of Architecture joined the students of 6th semester of REVA University School of Architecture for the short joint studio programme of two day. The objective of the studio was to explore design collaboration with students of both the institutions. This studio focused on a design exercise where they had to plan an innovative and a creative office work space.
Working in teams, students began to speculate diverse design concepts and take advantage of each school’s strengths. This studio added value or perhaps a different type of improved productivity in terms of design output.
The programme ended with a short felicitation programme at the end. We anticipate to have many such events planned together in the future.
It was an informative and interactive session for students. The students actively participated and acquired immense knowledge. The 2-day task has also given them an edge to approach with confidence and being able to work in any work setting.
We would like to thank Management REVA and our Director, School of Architecture, Dr. Vimala Swamy for giving us this opportunity. We would also like to thank Ar.Raghupathi.Ar.Raghuraman, Ar.Rinku Sreedhar,Ar.Moulidharan from SVS School of Architecture for this new initiative.
