Six-day workshop on Interdisciplinary Workshop on Bridging Molecular Diagnostics and Eco-Toxicology for sustainable future (IWBMDE-2025)

About the Workshop

Venue: Centre for Biotechnology and Molecular Biology Lab, RRC

This 6 Day Workshop on Molecular Diagnostics and Eco- Toxicology for a Sustainable Future offers an intensive research-driven exploration of and analytical approaches to assess toxicity in plant (Zea mays) and animal (Danio rerio) models. The workshop begins with an in-depth understanding of toxicity mechanisms, dose- response relationships, and cellular impacts in both models. Participants will then explore analytical techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and spectroscopy for precise xenobiotic detection. Toxicological profiling in Zea mays will focus on assessing toxicity- pigment quantification, proline content assay, and zymogram analysis. In Danio rerio, comprehensive toxicity evaluation will include organ dissection, tissue homogenization, and proteomic analysis. Immunoassays, particularly ELISA- based techniques, will be employed to study biomolecular markers of toxicity, followed by enzymatic biomarker analysis. The final phase of the workshop will emphasize using Malondialdehyde (MDA) assay and neurotoxicity assessment in Danio rerio through Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity. Participants will gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge ELISA, bridging environmental toxicology and biomedical research, this workshop aims to equip researchers with expertise in xenobiotic detection, biomarker analysis, and oxidative stress evaluation. It provides an opportunity to analyze toxicity at genetic, proteomic, and biochemical levels, fostering advancements in toxicological research, risk assessment, and environmental health.
