The Department of Psychology, School of Arts and Humanities, REVA University organised a webinar on 20th May 2020 through online conferencing platform of Microsoft Teams.
The session - “Flip Side of the Coin” was presented by Ms.Aishwarya Iyer - alumnus from University of Glasgow, UK. The webinar session included the darker and faulty sides of the history of psychological studies, and the discussions were around the ethical wrongness in the studies done in the past. The focus was mainly on the Milgram experiment, Stanford Prison experiment and the Aversion project. The webinar was beneficial for the students and scholars as it enabled their critical thinking to apply on the works done by psychologists who preceded them.The session brought out the significance of criticism when it comes to good and bad science, and how it ultimately leads to the growth of the same altogether.
The session was concluded with an interactive question and answer round which helped the students to clear their doubts regarding critical approach towards psychological studies
