Expert Talk (Academia) Report on “Knowledge Representation in Artificial Intelligence”

The School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with IEEE Circuits and Systems Student Branch, REVA University, recently organized an expert talk on the topic of "Knowledge Representation in Artificial Intelligence." The event was held on March 10th, 2023 and was specifically aimed at 4th semester EEE students. The talk featured Dr. Venugopal P, an Associate Professor at VIT University-Vellore, as the invited resource person.

The event began with a warm welcome from Dr. K Jyotheeswara Reddy, Associate Professor at the School of EEE, who highlighted Dr. Venugopal's notable contributions to the field. Dr. Venugopal then proceeded to deliver an informative session that lasted over an hour. His talk focused on knowledge representation in artificial intelligence, which is a crucial aspect of this rapidly growing field. The students were given insights into how machines are programmed to understand, reason, and represent knowledge in a way that is similar to human beings.

The session was not just informative but also engaging, as Dr. Venugopal employed various interactive techniques to help the students better understand the complex topic. He also provided real-world examples to illustrate the importance of knowledge representation in artificial intelligence. This approach helped the students grasp the material more effectively, making the session both interesting and informative.

After the lecture, the students were given an opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session with Dr. Venugopal. This allowed the students to clarify their doubts and engage in an interactive discussion with the expert.
