Webinar details:
The speaker Mr. Sheik Ismail, GIS Engineer, Gloinnt Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Gave the details of importance of GIS for civil engineer. GIS allows civil engineers to manage and share data and turn it into easily understood reports and visualizations that can be analyzed and communicated to others. This data can be related to both a project and its broader geographic context. It also helps organizations and governments work together to develop strategies for sustainable development. As a result, civil engineers work with a voluminous amount of data from a variety of sources. Geographic information system (GIS) technology provides the tools for creating, managing, analyzing, and visualizing the data associated with developing and managing infrastructure.

The speaker also explained the career opportunities.  A civil engineer’s work responsibilities include conceiving, designing, building, supervising, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure projects and systems. A civil engineer works in private as well as the public sector. GIS can be used for various civil engineering aspects such as Infrastructure Management, Urban development & town planning, Watershed management, Transportation planning, Environmental analysis, Provide construction requirements, data handling, land analysis, Constructions management, regional planning etc.,
Most of the developed countries were some of the earliest adopters of GIS technology, and it is currently used in road inventories, archaeological site management, economic development projects, analysis and visualization of health information, and everything in between. GIS technology has improved by leaps and bounds in recent years and is fast becoming critical to conducting business effectively. This webinar will prepare you to have meaningful conversations with your leadership about the power of GIS and how a solid strategy can strengthen business processes. GLOINNT experts will cover how to build a geospatial strategy and communicate it to decision-makers in any organization.

A geospatial strategy is a business-oriented plan designed to help change the functions and behaviour of an organization to deliver added value. The most forward-thinking organizations are making strategic investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), and they are using GIS as the connective thread to automate processes, improve predictive modelling, and gain operational efficiency. Join this month’s Webinar to explore more about Geographic Information System.

Presenter were enthusiastic and engaged participants and gave answers to each question by the students to their satisfaction.
The event was planned to allow maximum participation and was completed with success. Students as well as faculty participated in the session.

We would like to thank our honorable Chancellor & Vice Chancellor of  REVA University, Director Dr. Y. Ramalinga Reddy of School of Civil engineering, Placement incharge Rajashekhar S L and all the faculty of School of Civil Engineering, REVA University for their continuous support and guidance.
