The School of ECE has organized a Faculty Development Programme on “Industrial Automation and Robotics on 14-15 June 2019, in association with Axis Global Automation group of companies, Chennai. The FDP was inaugurated on 14th June, 2019 at 9.30 am in Aryabhata Seminar Hall, C V Raman block, under the auspices of Mr. Rajesh Raghavan, Regional Head – South, Yashkawa, India and Mr. Ezhilmaran Arumugam, Director, Axis Global Automation group of companies, Chennai as Chief guests. Honorable Vice Chancellor and the Director School of ECE have graced the Inaugural function.
In Day-1 of the FDP, Introduction to the industrial automation was deliberated and the products from Axis global & Yashkawa were displayed. The hands-on session on (DVP-14 SS2) – WPL software was also organized and the participants from the School of ECE and other Engineering schools are also given the basic operational training on the tools and techniques. The upload and download of ladder programme, industrial automation programmes, Communication protocol and V-Box and controlling PLC through mobile using WPL software was successfully demonstrated and practiced. After that the session on SCADA was discussed in details and related SCADA software, Wonderware Intouch software – trial version was given for the practice to the participants. Usage of digital and analog tags are deliberated in the session.
In Day-2 of the FDP, Training was given on the Industrial Robotics software – Motosim EG. Design and simulation programmes of Yashkawa robot was also demonstrated. Hands on session on HMI with PLC using Rs 485 was also demonstrated. Along with that, following are discussed at length: Controlling of HMI through e-remote, Demo application on interfacing PLC, SCADA and HMI, Introduction to Interpolation and Coordinate system, selection of robot and end effectors.
The participants expressed their complete satisfaction on the learning outcomes of the FDP in terms of knowledge on PLC, SCADA and Robotics Simulation software’s and working model of PLC hardware kits PLC-DVP 14SS2.
We would like to extend appreciations for Senior consultants from AGIIT (one of the training subsidiary of Axil global group of companies) for delivering such an insightful and illustrious Industrial Automation and Robotics training and exposing them to the industry relevant robotics problems and the probable solutions using the PLC, SCADA and Robotics tools.
