About the Department

The Department of Psychology was established in 2017 with a major goal of embracing the need to address contemporary social challenges, career opportunities, research implications, and its uniqueness in attracting young minds towards it. The department progressively flourished and advanced its strength by launching the M.Sc. Psychology and Research programs in 2020. 

The department strives to meet the demand in the education landscape by contributing towards imparting knowledge, research, and innovations in behavioral changes for community and social well-being. The department internalizes its agenda to prepare well-equipped students with values and empathy addressing local and global problems in human behavior. The growing demand for behavioral experts across all industries like health, education, corporate, sports, government, and NGOs signify its scope. A wide horizon of diverse opportunities like social workers, counselors, psychotherapists, and behavioral expert consultants for private and public agencies further adds to the relevance of a platform like the Department of Psychology.

The department assimilates and endorses the vision and mission of the university in its activities and leaps to attain the collective goal of “Developing an excellent human resource with leadership qualities, ethical and moral values, research culture and innovative skills through higher education of global standards”.

The Department of Psychology aspires to be a potentially unique platform that would stand out at the national and global level for imparting value entrusted approach to understanding mind and behavior. The department pursues its goal of fuelling students to embrace the importance of implementing theory and research in practice that could enable them to conceive a comprehensive appreciation of mental processes and their application to the welfare of society.

Our Mission

  • To provide an excellent and high-standard education for graduate and postgraduate students taught by a diverse set of committed faculty members actively involved in academic research.
  • To nourish the students with an ethically driven approach to learning and practice, facilitating the active participation of students in community development, practice of integrity, and moral values.
  • To produce value-oriented and professionally competent custodians for the future of the nation. The uncompromised emphasis on training empirical knowledge and practical sessions keeps the department a unique place to experience the mastery of psychology.
  • To ensure that the students gain a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of human behaviour through exposure to various fields and subfields of psychology via a student-centric approach to learning and research.
  • To provide the students with hands-on experience in dealing with human behaviour through fully-fledged laboratories.
  • To deliver classic learning experiences to the students through interaction with subject experts, internship opportunities, and collaboration with various government and non-government mental health service providers.

Facilities Available: Psychology Laboratory/Testing Rooms: These are often used for conducting experiments or assessments.

Classrooms and Lecture Halls: Spaces for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Computer Labs: Equipped with software for statistical analysis.

Central Library: The library is equipped with the lates books and journals.

REVA Health and diagnostic centre-: The health centre provides all kinds of healthcare services to the students in the campus.

Hostel- The campus has a hostel for the students with comfortable rooms and healthy meals.
