Students studying I/II/III/IV year of B.Tech Program.

Overview

This course will demonstrate how to generate digital designs that can be made into actual objects using 3D printing software to achieve higher quality and productivity standards. This hands-on course will walk you through two well-known 3D modeling applications, Solid Edge and CATIA, with step-by-step tutorials. After completing this course, students will be able to design a wide range of components/products for both personal and commercial use using 3D software- Digitial Manufacturing. Additionally, students who sign up for the certificate course will be provided more time to practice 3D modeling of parts in Solid Edge, CATIA Software and available open-source software for BFF file generation.

Course Outcomes

  • Create three-dimensional object files using a 3D CAD Model and prepare the digital design of the model.
  • Acquire the knowledge of preprocessing steps in order to generate BFF files from 3D models.
  • Prepare and optimize BFF files for 3D printing using open-source software.
  • Build a prototype using the 3D machine.
